ABOUT
The Castrobros Group of Companies is a 100% Namibian owned group and is based in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
We specialise in the catching, value adding and marketing of fresh and frozen fish. We operate five fishing vessels in the hake and large pelagic sectors of the Namibian fishing industry. Our target species are hake, swordfish, tuna and other large pelagic species. Our bycatch species are kingklip, angelfish and oilfish. We catch, process and market in excess of 5 000 tons of whole round fish per annum. Our vessels have a catching capacity of approximately 30 tons of fish per day.
We also invest in property. We currently own one hectare of prime industrial property in Walvis Bay to be used for the future development of a fish processing facility.
Our shareholding structure reflects Namibian beneficial ownership. This is in line with the national drive for industry Namibianisation and demonstrates commitment towards empowering previously disadvantaged Namibians.
The company is owned and managed by Namibians who are directly involved in all aspects of the business. With an experienced and dynamic management team, Castrobros currently employs 112 full-time Namibian employees.

QUALITY
FOOD SAFETY
Our vessels utilise the longline fishing method. Each fish is caught individually to ensure that optimum quality is preserved during the fishing process.
Our vessels conform to the food safety management system Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points System (HACCP). This system is endorsed by the United Nations, United States of America, European Union and other international food safety authorities.
Our staff are trained and certified in maintaining the systems we have adopted. Our products are processed, frozen, stored and transported by HACCP compliant facilities.
